NewsHour with Jim Lehrer Television Feature

July 8, 2008 (Gary, IN) - The Gary Chicago International Airport (GCIA) and Director Chris Curry were recently featured on a television segment of the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer program, which is nationally syndicated. The segment titled "Issues with Large Commercial Carriers Trouble Small Town Airports" aired Thursday, July 3, 2008.

Elizabeth Brackett, NewsHour Correspondent, conducted the interviews and had an opportunity to speak with Gary Mayor Rudy Clay, GCIA Board President Pastor Marion J. Johnson Jr. and Regional Development Authority Executive Director Tim Sanders.

During the interviews, Ms. Brackett toured the airport to view the amenities the airport has to offer. She also visited the Gary Access Channel's studio to view a taping of the airport's television program, "Taking off with the Gary Chicago Airport".
