Hooters Air Lands at Gary/Chicago Airport

Gary/Chicago International Airport growth continues as it welcomes new air carrier Hooters Air to the region. Effective June 10th, Hooters Air will fly to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from Gary/Chicago with flights on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday.

Mayor Scott L. King states, "We are pleased to welcome Hooters Air to the Gary/Chicago International Airport. This new service demonstrates the growing value of the Gary/Chicago Airport to the economic development of this region." King continues, "Hooters Air flights to Myrtle Beach and adding Nassau and Florida destinations proves Gary/Chicago as a viable airport alternative for the Northwest Indiana region, the Chicagoland traveler and other air carriers."

Mark Peterson, Hooters Air President reports, "We like the whole idea of the Gary Airport experience and the vacation from busy airports; we think our customers will like it too." Peterson adds, "Of course, it also gives us access to the major Chicago market with bottom line cost savings."

Based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and a rapidly growing airline, Hooters Air initiated service to Atlanta in March 2003 and flies Boeing 737 and Boeing 757 aircraft. Aircraft are configured with dark blue leather seats and extra leg room on this route. It will be staffed by a crew of two pilots, 3 flight attendants, along with Hooters Girls on every flight. The Hooters Girls are provided by Hooters of America and come from the Hooters Restaurants. Hooters Girls will come from local Hooters Restaurants in the Chicagoland area.

Effective June 10, it will offer non-stop service to Myrtle Beach, SC with connecting flights to Nassau, Bahamas and Fort Myers, FL. Paul Karas, Airport Administrator adds, "The connections to both Fort Myers, Florida and Nassau partly satisfy the many requests we have had for additional service to Florida as well as alternate leisure destinations. Travelers to these locations will soon be able to take advantage of the Gary/Chicago Airport's easy travel experience, quick access, low costs, and Free parking."

Air Flights will be offered most days between these cities with fares from $99. Reservations can be made today for this new and expanding service at www.hootersair.com or by calling 1-888-FLY-HOOT (1-888-359-4668). Fares are one-way, subject to availability and subject to change. Fares do not include Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9 each way, September 11th Security Fees of up to $5 each way and Federal Segment tax of $3. A segment is defined as one take-off and one landing. Fares to/from Nassau do not include U.S. and Bahamian Taxes of up to $67. Hooters Air Flights are Public Charters operated by Pace Airlines.
