Gary/Chicago Airport Partners With ATA

Gary, Indiana-ATA Airlines and the Gary/Chicago International Airport have reached an agreement in principal for ATA to provide scheduled air service between Gary and Indianapolis. Service will commence on or before February 1, 2005.

Service will include four (4) daily roundtrips timed to connect at Indianapolis with ATA's system destinations including Orlando, Ft. Meyers, St. Petersburg/Tampa, Phoenix and Las Vegas and the important business centers of New York, LaGuardia, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Service will be provided by ATA connection Saab 340B aircraft seating 34 passengers.

Mayor Scott L. King states, "I am gratified that ATA recognizes the market potential of the Gary/Chicago Airport. ATA's interest in Gary's airport is even more significant considering the difficult business environment in which airlines operate today."

Since scheduled service began at the Gary airport earlier this year, over 65,000 passengers have utilized the airport.
