In conjunction with the Gary/Chicago International Airport - Runway 12/30 Runway Extension Program, railroad tracks owned by the EJ&E Railway, a subsidiary of the Canadian National Railroad, must be relocated from their current alignment to a new corridor.

The proposed railroad corridor will require construction of two miles of double-track mainline railroad on new alignment.  To accomplish this task, the Gary/Chicago International Airport Authority has established a contract titled "EJ&E Railway Relocation - Grading, Drainage and Trackwork" (Project No. REP004)

Work under the EJ&E Railway Relocation - Grading, Drainage and Trackwork contract involves:

• Earthwork

• Trackwork

• Utility relocations

• Retaining walls

• Box culverts

• Other miscellaneous items related to this project
